The Susquehanna River at Tunkhannock was brown and moving swiftly this afternoon, swollen by a day and a half of showers and thunderstorms that finally moved away in the afternoon.

Humidity will build along with the heat as the weekend approaches. Some of the highest temperatures in several years will be experienced on Sunday and Monday. Records are likely to be broken from Saturday through Monday. Independence Day is looking hot and humid as well, with a chance for late day thunderstorms.
