The nip in the air clearly said that Autumn is here, but cloudless skies on Saturday brought throngs of guests from far and wide to the little village with a big heart. The fifth annual SoWyCo Fall Festival and Car Show featured more than 80 vendors, 27 classic vehicles, and 110 donated raffle baskets. Event coordinators sold a lot of food, including their famous apple crisp a la mode.
Proceeds for the Fall Festival, which included a gun raffle, are earmarked for the construction of a children’s recreation center near where the playground is currently situated.
“We had gorgeous weather, and everyone had smiles on their faces,” said long-time resident and board member Pearl Race. “We had a minister that was here 25 years ago ask how we grew so big!”
