While a return of excessive heat doesn’t appear likely over the next week, there will be few breaks from the persistent thunderstorms and showers that have made keeping up with gardening and mowing so challenging this year.

Saturday might provide us with one rain-free day before showers return on Sunday and the pattern of humidity and afternoon storms returns on Monday.

The long-term forecast follows:

Friday: 80/62 storms

Saturday: 80/60 mostly sunny

Sunday: 78/66 showers

Monday: 85/68 pm showers

Tuesday: 85/68 pm showers

Wednesday: 87/68 pm showers

Thursday: 86/65 partly sunny

Friday: 87/66 storms

Saturday: 80/60 showers
