Second No-Till Gardening Workshop Planned

Submitted Article/Map by Google

Many of the things we are learning in this day and age about crop production tells us that, in order to capitalize as much as we can on Mother Nature helping us grow things, fall is the time to prepare our fields and gardens. What we do now will have a huge impact on what we do next year.

Want to plant and harvest without the traditional hard work of a garden? Prepare now for “Lazy Gardening, Round two.”

If you attended the first presentation and maybe even put some methods into practice, don’t miss the second one. If you missed the first one, you really don’t want to miss this one. Now is the time to prepare. Let’s find out how to make gardening effortless. You can do it.

Join us on Saturday, Oct. 13 to discover a “new” way of raising your own vegetables with a lot less work, and more yield. Let’s make it an enjoyable trip next time we go to the garden. Let’s let nature work for us.

We need good soil life and good soil structure. This alone will allow more water infiltration and soil life that will do a lot of the hard work for us. Oh yea, weeds. Well, we will take care of them too. Imagine a garden that you don’t have to till and seldom have to weed or water. With a little bit of knowledge and prep work now, you can garden “The Lazy Way” next year.

The workshop will run from 10 am to noon at 7187 LeRaysville Road, Rome (West Warren), Bradford County. This will be an outside event at the property of  local gardener Chris Smith (above) using these practices. See it in action, and dress accordingly.

For more information or to register, contact Kevin Brown at the Bradford County Conservation District at 570-265-5539 or go online at BCCDPA.com.
