ScienceTellers Bring ‘Dragons and Ice’ to Summer Reading ‘Fantasy Faire’

Patron-favorites ScienceTellers return to the Library System of Bradford County in week two of Summer Reading 2020: Fantasy Faire, available exclusively online. They will perform via Zoom Tuesday, June 23 and Thursday, June 25 at 10 am and 1 pm.

LSBC has worked with this innovative troupe for several years bringing fun narratives and interactive science to eager audiences. Geared toward Pre-K through grades 5, these exciting performances blend experiments, action, and storytelling in a compelling format that is irresistible for viewers of all ages. Last year the group was very popular with their space-themed program “Aliens!: Escape From Earth”.

This time around the Hillsborough, NJ-based group will present “Dragons: Return of the Ice Sorceress”, weaving together Physical Science Next Generation Science Standards PS1 and PS2 and a thrilling adventure as two daring villagers seek to unleash dragons and save their kingdom. Faced with obstacles and unexpected complications, they will turn to science and their own wits to persevere. Featuring dry ice special effects and exciting acting, this show is sure to keep children entertained and learning.

ScienceTellers has been providing quality science-based entertainment to libraries, schools, and organizations in over forty states for more than fifteen years. Uniting an impressive collection of scientists, artists and performers, the group crafts experiential and educational programs firmly established in the Next Generation Science Standards, ensuring that learning is fun and hands-on.

Spalding Memorial Library Children’s Librarian Jessica White says “The Sciencetellers draw a crowd every summer with their unique blend of storytelling and science experiments. Their explosive special effects keep the audience on the edge of their seats and get the kids really excited about science!”

ScienceTellers will be performing Tuesday, June 23 at 10 am and 1 pm and Thursday, June 25 at 10 am and 1 pm via Zoom. All 2020 Summer Reading programs will be virtual this year and will follow the same day and time format.
