Pickett to Host Identity Theft Seminar

To educate residents about ways in which they can safeguard their identities, Rep. Tina Pickett (Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) will hold an Identity Theft Seminar on Friday, April 27, in Sayre.

From data breaches to Facebook privacy to dumpster diving, the protection of personal information is a hot topic in the news lately, with many individuals wondering if certain facts about them and their lives are making their way around the world,” Pickett said. “This seminar will offer attendees the latest steps and tips in seeking to protect personal information from falling into the wrong hands.”

The seminar will begin at 10 a.m. at the Sons of Italy Club, located at 301 Desmond St., Sayre. It will be led by Janene Holter, a senior supervisory special agent from the Office of the Pennsylvania Attorney General.

Of specific interest, topics will include the latest frauds and scams occurring, along with tips for avoiding falling prey to unscrupulous schemes.
