To thank Rep. Tina Pickett (Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) for her strong legislative record to support pro-small business policies in the Commonwealth, the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has awarded her with the Guardian of Small Business Award.

As a former small business owner, I know the struggles our state’s entrepreneurs face on a daily basis, and they shouldn’t have to deal with additional obstacles from government,” Pickett said. “From taxation to overly burdensome regulations to workforce development, our small businesses are the real economic generators in our communities, and we should be doing all we can to help them. They are our real job creators.”

The Guardian of Small Business Awards are given to legislators who consistently vote favorably on key small business issues that are among the highest priorities of NFIB’s small business agenda.

Among Pickett’s pro-business record is a 2012 law she authored which gives small businesses a voice in the development of state regulations.

Pickett was presented the award by Rebecca Oyler, NFIB’s Pennsylvania legislative director.
