Mild but Wet Start to Next Week

Mountaintops throughout the Endless Mountains have been routinely re-frosted since the first significant winter weather event last week, as seen from Stone Hedge Golf Club in Tunkhannock Township, Wyoming County on Thursday morning. That pattern will come to an end, as Old Man Winter retreats for a few days.

After a damp and chilly start to the weekend, warmer air will rush in from the south and bring us some rain to start out the new week. Some snow may mix in on Tuesday evening as cold weather returns.

The long-term forecast follows:

Friday night: sprinkles early 24

Saturday: partly cloudy 28/14

Sunday: partly cloudy 35/30

Monday: rain 48/48

Tuesday: rain to snow 50/28

Wednesday: mostly sunny 30/15

Thursday: mostly sunny 22/15
