Master Gardeners offer Road Trip to Fruition Seeds

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners in Susquehanna County are partnering with the Montrose Area Adult School to host a trip to Fruition Seeds Farm in Naples, NY. Participants will spend Saturday, April 8 in the heart of the Finger Lakes district of western New York. Fruition Seeds offers organic, regionally adapted seeds and much more. Their seeds thrive in our short seasons, have remarkable early maturity, and many share extraordinary cold hardiness as well as disease resistance.

Carpooling is available from Price Chopper Parking lot in Montrose. The group will leave promptly at 8:30 am arrive around 11 am for an early lunch ($10 – $20). Next, the group proceeds to Fruition Farms for shopping, and the tour begins afterwards.

At 2:15 attendees will participate in a workshop called ‘Sowing Perennial Flowers, Herbs in Soil Blocks & Beyond.’ Participants will explore several sowing strategies and take home a tray of freshly sown seeds. The day’s festivities end at 4:15 pm.

This event is limited to nine registrants, so early registration is recommended. Additional information will be sent upon registration. The registration fee of $50 does not include lunch.
