The temperature hovered near 66 degrees in Towanda on Tuesday afternoon, but the loss of leaves and the dark waters of the Susquehanna River flowing under the railroad bridge told the real story. As much as it was appreciated, the warm weather spike will soon be followed by sharply colder temperatures, as an early Arctic vortex invades the nation. It appears, however, that the depth of this cold wave will be somewhat moderated by the time that it reaches us and therefor maybe not feeling so dramatic.
