Residents from Meshoppen and other nearby towns descended on the borough’s Community Park on Oct. 25 for the annual Halloween Parade and party. Participants had their costumes judged for cash prizes and enjoyed snacks and beverages donated by numerous businesses and individuals who help Holly Stark put on the event each year.
First Place costume winners included: Infant-4 funniest Morgan Hillard, scariest Angel Williams, and most original Elliott Campbell; 5-8 funniest Ameerah Drost, scariest Alfred Higgins, and most original Owen Williams; 9-12 funniest David Benninger, scariest Daniel Seneca, and most original Hailey Litster; 13-adult funniest Sarah Corker, scariest Mike Dear, and most original Jennifer Fahl. There were also prizes awarded for home-made scarecrows, jack-o-lanterns, and painted pumpkins.
Creative costumes on Friday night included a bag of popcorn, a gumball machine and a crayon box worn by Zander and Ryder Nealon and Bentley Turbessi of Falls. Zander and Ryder took Second and Third most original in the infant-4 division, and Bentley took second in 5-8 most original cosutme.
