Rep. Jonathan Fritz (Susquehanna/Wayne) will be hosting a press conference on Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m., at 1831 State Route 848, New Milford PA 18834, to highlight the importance of his PIPE Investment Program legislation, House Bill 1103, as well as the positive impact the “Energize PA” initiative will have on the Commonwealth.

House Bill 1103 will make grants available to construct the last few miles of distribution lines to business parks and existing manufacturing and industrial enterprises, will accelerate beneficial deployment of low-cost energy, and will result in the creation of new economic base jobs in the Commonwealth while providing access to natural gas for residents.

Here in the Commonwealth, the oil and gas industry generate billions in revenue, at the same time, provides meaningful, family sustaining pay for many of our residents,” said Fritz. “By further embracing this clean energy industry, I am certain that we will see continued growth in our economy and an increase in the job opportunities available to our workforce. We are beginning to see a real renaissance in Pennsylvania. Let’s focus on continuing the positive trend.”

Pennsylvania has realized significant benefits from oil and gas production in Pennsylvania. For example, the industry contributes $45 billion to Pennsylvania’s economy, provides more than 300,000 family-sustaining jobs in the state, generates billions of dollars in bonus and royalty payments for Pennsylvania landowners, and provides significant reductions in air emissions, helping Pennsylvania meet Clean Power Plan goals ahead of schedule and without government interference.

House Bill 1103 currently is in the House Finance Committee and will be voted on tomorrow, June 11.

Fritz is one of eight other bill sponsors included in the House’s “Energize PA” initiative, which is a pro-growth, pro-jobs legislative package designed to push for job growth and revitalize infrastructure with no new fees or taxes.

Other Energize PA bill sponsors include: Reps. Aaron Kaufer (Luzerne), Natalie Mihalek (Allegheny/Washington), Joshua Kail (Beaver/Washington), Tarah Toohil (Luzerne), Eric Nelson (Westmoreland), Mike Puskaric (Washington/Allegheny) and Tim O’Neal (Washington).
