Dustin Wayne Williams, 28, Factoryville was charged with endangering the welfare of children under his care, reckless endangerment of another and providing false reports to police. The offenses are related to the severe scalding of a 17-month-old toddler in Nicholson in October 2017. The son of Andra Evancavich incurred second- and third- degree burns that were reportedly left untreated for more than 12 hours. Evancavich told police that the child had apparently dumped scalding water on himself from the plastic cup that she used to rinse his hair. But medical personnel indicated that the pattern of the burns were not consistent with her story, which they sensed was “rehearsed.” A warrant has been issued for Evancavich’s arrest on similar charges, and Williams’ preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 13.
