Community Halloween Party Planned at Lazy Brook Park

Staff and volunteers from the Trehab Community Resource Center of Wyoming County (TCRCWC) will conduct a costume parade and activities for family members of all ages on Sunday, Oct. 25. The event will run from 1 to 5 pm at Lazy Brook Park, off Route 6 east of Tunkhannock, in and around the Red Pavilion. Refreshments will be served, and there is no cost to participate.

This is the second year that the Center’s events committee has planned an event, and the length and location will help to provide for more safe-distancing. Masks are required, and all CDC guidelines will be followed.

The costume parade is slated to begin at 3 pm, but guests do not have to stay for the entire event. “You can come at whatever time is convenient for you and still go through all the activities,” said TCRCWC volunteer and project coordinator Ryan Taylor. Youths will also receive goodie bags.

The Halloween party is sponsored by Wyoming County Cares and the Trehab Community resource Center of Wyoming County. For more information, interested readers may call the Center at 570-836-7508.

  1. I think this is a wonderful day! We should keep the spirit alive for children everywhere and adults.
I grew up there in Lazybrook Acres, and my brothers, sister, and I had the best childhood ❤ growing up. We still are in touch with neighbors and friends, we reminisce about trick or treating, sled riding, whiffle ball games.

Children need more to do and imaginations. Fun times are lost on kids these days and don’t realize the importance of the outdoors and having true friends.

Let me know if I can help, I would love to. ‍♀️

  2. It amazes me that people are willing to take unnecessary risk for some free candy. Our numbers are rising and we are focusing on making sure kids get free candy? Save us all. Buy your kids a bag of candy, let them wear their costumes and stay in and watch a scary movie.
