Winter has yet to release us from its icy grip with temperatures either at or below seasonable levels. Southerly breezes will bring a slight chance of showers to the region on Tuesday, but the warmth won’t last.

Another storm system arriving this weekend, however, could push highs into the 50s again, transitioning the remaining ice and snow to mud.

The long-term forecast follows:

Monday night: 22 mostly cloudy

Tuesday: 45/29 PM showers

Wednesday: 46/27 partly cloudy

Thursday: 30/12 increasing sunshine

Friday: 36/24 partly cloudy

Saturday: 44/34 PM showers

Sunday: 53/42 showers

Monday: 57/39 showers

Tuesday: 45/30 AM showers
