The summer weather that most people have been waiting for will arrive over the next couple of days and continue through the week. Farmers will be able to cut hay, and gardens should flourish.

And, for a welcome change, there is little rain in the forecast beyond a system moving through on Monday evening and another chance of showers next weekend.

The long-term forecast follows:

Friday night: winds abate 52

Saturday: sunny & breezy 75/52

Sunday: sunny 78/58

Monday: pm showers 80/65

Tuesday: am showers 80/60

Wednesday: mostly sunny 80/62

Thursday: mostly sunny 83/63

Friday: mostly sunny 82/62

Saturday: t-storms 79/60

Sunday: partly cloudy 75/55
