Autumn’s Slippery Slide Continues

The sun tried in earnest to break through the clouds in southwest Susquehanna County Thursday afternoon, but thick clouds prevailed. A breezy Friday will be followed by a frosty night.

Like coming to the end of a long roller coaster ride, Endless Mountains residents will enjoy a few days yet in the 60s, but most days will be in the 50s with more nights in the 30s.

Though its certainly too far away to be sure, low temperatures and moisture could align around Halloween for the first wet snowflakes of the year.

The long-term forecast follows:

Thursday night: breezy 40

Friday: cloudy and breezy 48/31

Saturday: partly cloudy 58/37

Sunday: partly sunny 62/42

Monday: partly cloudy 65/50

Tuesday: showers 66/48

Wednesday: am showers 56/38

Thursday: mostly sunny 58/42

Friday: showers 54/38

Saturday: showers 52/42

The weather report is based on expected conditions at approximately 1,100 ft elevation in Meshoppen Township, Wyoming County, near the center of the Endless Mountains region.
