Ernie King is announcing his bid for reelection after serving his first term as minority Wyoming County commissioner. King (D) was sworn in 2020 and quickly hit the ground running when the world came to a near halt from the coronavirus pandemic.
King is the former owner of K & K Tire Barn in Tunkhannock. He’s now dedicated himself to the residents of Wyoming County full time. “I’m in the office at 8am every workday and my door is always open,” says King, “Residents can call on me anytime, I will listen, and find solutions for them.”

King, a registered democrat, prides himself on teamwork and working across party lines with his fellow republican commissioners. “We work really well together as a team,” says King, “We have to produce results for all of the taxpayers of Wyoming County.”

In the past year the Commissioners have been active in getting coronavirus relief from the federal and state government and distributing it to people most affected in Wyoming County by the fallout from the pandemic shutdown. “There are some big challenges we are still facing, and we want people to know we are actively fighting for our area residents’ health, well-being, and economic development, as well as job security.” Commissioners have made investments in health and wellness programs, tourism, and area nonprofits.

There’s a lot of work still to be done and we’ve made huge progress in the past few years,” says King, “I would be honored if the residents would place their trust in me for another term so I could help shepherd much of our hard work across the finish line.”
