Saturday, Feb. 15 will be a sweet day in Dushore, as the Winter Wine and Chocolate Walk Around Dushore event takes over downtown from noon to 5 pm.
Perfectly paired with Valentine’s Day, this palate-pleasing event, sponsored by the Dushore Area Business Association, will gather at least 10 area wineries together, giving event-goers the opportunity to taste a variety of wines for free before choosing a favorite (or two, or three!) to purchase and take home. Participating wineries include Grovedale Winery, Winterland Winery, Staggering Unicorn, Deep Roots Hard Cider, Antler Ridge Winery, Lopez Winery, Mountain Lake Winery, Three Dogs Vino, Joe Perry Winery, and Lucci Winery.
Great tasting chocolate will be available for tasting and buying through several vendors such as Norma Lee’s Fudge, Highland Chocolates, and Kurt’s Making Whoopie, who promise their products will satisfy any sweet tooth craving. There will also be other vendors with a variety of items to explore.
All vendors and wineries will be set up inside downtown businesses and will be marked on a map of the town to make it easy to find everyone.
Pealer Hall – a community room in a newly remodeled building on the corner of Railroad and East Main streets – will be bustling with activities and entertainment featuring Dick Adams Jazz Trio and a photo booth sponsored by Relay for Life and Second Hand Rose. There will also be a chocolate dessert contest, with prizes awarded for presentation (chosen by public popular vote) and taste (judged by a panel of three judges).
