The Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau is hosting its annual marketing meeting on Tuesday, May 7, and local business owners are invited.
The event is being held during National Tourism Week, which is being celebrated May 5-11.
Designed to be an educational day for its members to learn about marketing and advertising opportunities, the visitors bureau especially welcomes non-members to this event so they can see firsthand the benefits of a marketing relationship with the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau.
“This is a great opportunity for business owners not familiar with what we do, to learn what benefits are available to them when they partner with us,” said executive director Jean Ruhf. “There are marketing initiatives we offer that businesses may not have access to otherwise.”
The meeting, which will take place from 10am-2pm at the American Legion Post 510 in Black Walnut off Route 6, will hit on topics including up and coming trends in social media, steps to get the most out of social media advertising, how to use Google analytics to understand and utilize a target market, and tips on how to design a business brochure or rack card from a marketing standpoint.
Attendees will also hear about the latest promotional opportunities available with the visitors bureau, as well as the marketing initiatives the bureau participated in and plans to do in the future, including a sneak peak at the bureau’s soon to be launched redesigned website.
A light lunch will be served, and there will be plenty of time for networking with other business owners in attendance.
“Networking with other area businesses is a crucial part of owning and running a business,” Ruhf commented. “It gives everyone a chance to see what else is available in the Endless Mountains and may lead to unexpected partnering opportunities between businesses.”
The cost for non-members is $15 and can be paid at the door. Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau members may attend at no cost. All those coming are asked to bring their business brochure or other marketing material to exchange with others.
