Rep. Tina Pickett recently had an opportunity to attend the 43rd annual Scholarship Challenge at the Sayre Theatre and extend congratulations to the team from Towanda Area High School for winning the contest. Towanda topped second-place finisher, Notre Dame High School, by the score of 130-90.

I was happy to be there cheering them on,” Pickett remarked.

Nineteen schools from Pennsylvania and New York competed in this year’s event, which was sponsored by First Citizens Community Bank (FCCB) and broadcast live by Choice Radio. Towanda took home $3,000 and the Kwasnoski Cup, which was presented by Lisa Lucas (above, third from right) in memory of her brother.
