Tom Henry Seeks Reelection as County Commissioner

I have been a lifelong Resident of Wyoming County and am married to Ann and we have three adult children. I have served the citizens of Wyoming County for over seven years as your dedicated Commissioner. I hope your votes will give me the opportunity to carry on my experience.

I am working full-time as Chairman of the County Commissioners where I have served this Community by working with other leaders such as the Judge, Coroner, District Attorney, Probation, EMA, 911,  and many others to combat Drug and Alcohol issues.

I have served on the Leadership Committee of Hope Coalition; Stockholder on the Governors Opioid Disaster Task Force; Chairman of Luzerne/Wyoming County Drug and Alcohol; I am also a member of the Criminal Justice Advisory Board participating weekly in Wyoming County Drug Court. Personally I have helped numerous people get treatment in Wyoming County, where we are making a difference.

Additionally I serve on Luzerne /Wyoming County Executive Board of Mental Health and Disabilities and worked hard to bring these meetings to Wyoming County.

As a member of the Nicholson Heritage Association I am working together to bring back the train station and bring back downtown Nicholson with Street Scape renovation.

I also serve on the Northern Tier Development Board where I was a past chairman.

Being active in the following organizations is an important part of my life, those organizations are as follows:

Member of Black Walnut American Legion

Charter Member and Past President of Tunkhannock Lions Club

Member of Lackawanna/Wyoming County Farm Bureau

Supporter and Past-Chairman of the Relay for Life involved for over twenty years

Past Board Member of the Dietrich Theater and helped to bring movies back to our area.

I am one of the Board of Directors of the Wyoming County Chamber who works to promote Business in the County and worked with Natural Gas companies to help people in need and to assure things are done safely and responsibility.

I have also worked with over 44 participants both students and citizens on Government Leadership Programs.

I also serve on the Solid Waste Committee and the Recycling Board.

I have a good working relationship at the Courthouse where I worked hard for the Restructure of County 911, GIS Mapping, Wyoming County Corrections, Tax Office and Treasurers Office. I have been involved in the programs at the Jail and with Employees including ABT and Inside-out Programs and with my experience I have succeeded to getting the County Bond rating to AA Status.  

With my local business experience for over 30 years at Mile Hill Auto Parts, where I served as Vice-President and served on the National Advertising Board and won their highest National Award.

I am truly Honored to be working for Wyoming County and sincerely ask for your Support and Vote on May 21st.
