Today, the Susquehanna County Recreation Center (SCRC) announced that they received a lead gift for its capital campaign from Williams. Williams, a familiar natural gas infrastructure company in our area, has committed $1.5 million over the next five years to build the Williams Fieldhouse.
“We are honored and excited to continue our community partnership with Williams,” said Ashley Kilmer, president, Susquehanna County Recreation Center Board. “Williams is not a company that just says they want to make an impact in the communities they operate in, they roll up their sleeves and take action.”
The SCRC project’s goal is to increase the social, emotional and physical health and wellness of the community through the construction of an affordable indoor recreation center. The center will have a self-sustaining business model, confirmed recently through a third-party company, Sports Facility Advisory (SFA).
After learning more about the project, growing support and accelerated progress, Williams decided to increase its commitment through this trailblazing pledge.
“I’m very proud that Williams is upping its commitment as a long-standing goal to be good stewards in the community,” said Tammy Bonnice, Williams employee and SCRC Board Member. “We hope this gift also inspires other local organizations to support the SCRC capital campaign and positively impact the county through this worthwhile project.”
