A pair of alleged drug dealers consummating a sale at River Crest housing development in Wyoming County last night felt that they had been short-changed and took off after the buyers. One of them, Micole Lindsay Gumpper of Uniondale, Susquehanna County, ended up dead.

According to a report released this morning by Pennsylvania State Police at Tunkhannock, Gumpper and her boyfriend gave pursuit of the suspects, Jesse John Long of Pittston and David Allen Bohner of Tunkhannock, in a U-Haul van, heading south on Route 92 towards Falls Township after 9 pm.

Long, 28, who was a passenger in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by Bohner, 24, allegedly began firing at the U-Haul with a handgun. One of the rounds went through the windshield and struck Gumpper, 23, in the front of the head as she sat in the passenger seat.

Gumpper was taken to Tyler Memorial Hospital and airlifted to CMC hospital in Scranton, where she received advanced medical care but died from the injury. The time of the shooting is listed as 9:50 pm.

Long and Bohner have been arrested and charged with open counts of criminal homicide and related offenses.

The investigation is ongoing and involves PSP, Tunkhannock Township Police, and the Wyoming County District Attorney. Anyone with information is asked to call 570-836-2141.
