With the school year over (crazy as that sounds), consider spending time with us exploring careers in three different industries. NTIEC is hosting three summer career experience programs this summer. There is something for everyone.
Healthcare Career Summer Experience – join us from July 10-14 at the Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center with worksite tours throughout the week! We will learn the basics in healthcare before traveling to Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Lackawanna College School of Health Sciences, and Avoca Airport to spend a day with the crew of Life Flight. Geisinger CMC Trauma educators will train and certify students in “First on the Scene.” If you have ever considered pursuing a career in healthcare, then this program was designed with you in mind!
Agriculture & Leadership Summer Experience – join us from July 17-21 at Brown Hill Farms. This week is jam packed with exciting tours to a dairy farm, a large animal veterinary center, an equestrian ranch, a hydroponics farm, and so much more. Enjoy a VIP kick-off breakfast with industry leaders like Senator Lisa Baker, Representative Tina Pickett, Commissioner Ernie King, the Conservation District, and members of the Wyoming County 4H as they share the importance agriculture in our area. Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding will be having lunch with us and sharing his views on agriculture.
Energy & Oilfield Summer Experience – join us from August 7-11 at the Lackawanna College School of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about careers directly related to the energy & oilfield industry. Learn first-hand from the professionals in this industry. Field trips will supplement what you learn from the professionals along with hands-on activities that will help you tie it all together. Students will be certified in CPR. If you like working with your hands, working outside, or have a love for science/math, than consider attending this program.
All programs are open to students in 9-12th grade along with students who just graduated. Enrollment is limited to only 15 students each, so please make sure to sign up now. Download the applications on website at www.ntiec.com or contact Deb Tierney at dtierney@ntiec.com for more information.
