Sixth-graders at Wyalusing Valley Elementary School are getting excited about their annual trip to Washington D.C. As part of their studies in anticipation of the adventure, students in Bill Lutz’s social studies class were tasked with constructing models of their favorite national monuments and buildings.

Among the 3-D representations currently on display in the WVES lobby are the Pentagon, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Washington Monument, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, many a White House, and several renditions of the Second Division Monument, also known as the Flaming Sword (above).
