Pop-Up Pantry Planned in Gillett

edited from submitted material

Child Hunger Outreach Partner (CHOP) will conduct a “pop-up pantry” at the South Creek Lions Hall on Route 14 in Gillett on Monday, April 6 at 1 pm. Food will be delivered by the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank at the Lions Hall on Monday morning to give volunteers time to prepare for distribution.

Families with children in Gillett, Fassett, Mosherville, and Ridgebury are invited to take advantage of the offering. The distribution will be conducted as a drive-through to maintain social distancing for the safety of the volunteers and those in need.

CHOP is hosting pop-ups because it is a more efficient and safe way to meet the needs of area children.

Families are asked to pull into the lot in the order directed, and volunteers will bring a box or bag of food to the vehicle. Ricipients should not get out of their vehicles.

The Lions Hall is closed to the public at this time. Distribution will continue until the food is gone.
