On March 30, the Wyoming County Commissioners proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month, in conjunction with the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties. CAC director Janie Fortney and her staff subsequently placed pinwheels at several locations in the Tunkhannock area, including the county courthouse, Children & Youth Services, Tunkhannock State Police barracks, and the Tunkhannock Township police station.
“Since we work with all of these disciplines and because of COVID restrictions, we thought we’d do things differently this year,” said Fortney.
