With the end of the 2016 calendar year soon upon us, Rep. Tina Pickett (Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) reminds local residents about her satellite office schedule in Sullivan and Susquehanna counties.
“The Commonwealth offers a number of programs and services to help residents this time of year, whether through emergency heating assistance grants or rebates on property taxes or rent,” Pickett said. “We also can help sort through red tape on any number of state issues, such as complicated PennDOT paperwork or for higher education assistance. We are here to help and I hope residents will take advantage of these satellite hours.”
Her satellite office schedule, which operates on the first four Wednesdays of the month, will remain unchanged. Staff will be at the Sullivan County Commissioners’ Office in the courthouse on the first and third Wednesdays, Dec. 7 and Dec. 21, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, and at Heft’s Buy and Sell in Lawton on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, Dec. 14 and Dec. 28, from 10 am to noon.
To help veterans navigate the complexities of government programs and services designed specifically for them, Dan Falls from the American Legion will be meeting with veterans and/or their family members from10 am to 2 pm on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Falls can help veterans and their family members with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services, and appointments can be made by calling Pickett’s Sayre office at (570) 888-9011.
Pickett’s full-time offices are located at 321 Main St., Towanda, phone (570) 265-3124, and 106 West Packer Ave., Sayre, phone (570) 888-9011. More information is available 24 hours a day on Pickett’s website at www.RepPickett.com or on her Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/RepPickett.
