Pickett and Fritz to Host Concealed Carry Seminars This Fall

Due to popular demand, Rep. Tina Pickett (Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) has scheduled two upcoming Concealed Carry Seminars for residents of the 110th District. The seminars are set for Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Sayre Sportsmen’s Club and Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Elk Lake American Legion.

For the past few years that we’ve hosted these seminars, residents have found them quite valuable,” said Pickett. “In addition to the information about state firearms laws, the seminars include discussions about how concealed carry permit holders should interact when coming into contact with law enforcement, along with a question-and-answer session, which I have found helpful in knowing how local residents feel about current laws and legislation.”

Both seminars will begin at 6 p.m., and last about two hours. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

The event at the Sayre Sportsmen’s Club will feature Bradford County Sheriff C.J. Walters as guest speaker. The club is located along Club Lane. Directions can be found at www.sayresportsmensclub.com.

The Elk Lake American Legion event, which is being co-sponsored with Rep. Jonathan Fritz (Susquehanna/Wayne), will include Susquehanna County Sheriff Lance Benedict and District Attorney Marion O’Malley as guest presenters. The American Legion is located at 8660 State Route 3023, Springville.

These seminars have always been well liked by residents in our area,” said Fritz. “They provide an opportunity for concealed carry permit holders, and those looking to obtain one, to be informed of the laws and regulations relating to these permits as well as allowing attendees to have open discussions with present local and state officials to ask questions they may have about the permit.”

Residents who have previously attended these forums are encouraged to participate in our upcoming sessions to gain additional information or to refresh what they have already learned,” Pickett added.

Registration is required for this event. Those wishing to attend the Sayre events should call Pickett’s office at (570) 265-3124 or sign up online at www.RepPickett.com. Residents of the 110th District in Little Meadows, Apolacon Township, Friendsville, Middletown Township, Rush Township, Auburn Township, Dimock Township, Springville Township, Hop Bottom and Lathrop Township should also call Pickett’s office or visit her website.
