Patriots Cove, a local non-profit that helps veterans, first responders, and their caregivers heal and adapt to life after service, announced 18 all-inclusive outdoor and respite retreats coming this year. Activities are exclusive to military, veterans, and first responders with service-connected injuries and illnesses, as well as the caregivers who care and advocate for their needs.

Nestled in the northeast mountains of Pennsylvania, Patriots Cove is an 18-acre refuge with a trout stream and fruit orchard. The property is wheelchair accessible with a lodge home, activities center, pavilion, fishing docks, trails, rest areas and fire pit.

During outdoor retreats, Patriots Cove volunteers help wounded patriots enjoy a guided trout fishing experience in the northeast mountains of Pennsylvania, which includes their fishing gear, meals, and lodging.

While patriots enjoy all that the Cove has to offer, caregivers can unwind and recharge at the Caregiver Cottage knowing their loved ones are being cared for. They can participate in restorative activities such as wellness classes on mindfulness and meditation, learn about resources and tools available, and connect with a community of caregivers that understands their unique experiences.

The Caregiver Community Program provides caregivers with the network and resources necessary to care and advocate for wounded patriots. At retreats, caregivers have the opportunity to focus on their own well-being, connect with other caregivers, and participate in caregiver education and training workshops.

Registration is now open for 2022 springs and fall retreats: April 21st-23rd, May 12th-14th, June 9th-11th, July 14th-16th, August 18th-20th, September 8th-10th, October 6th-8th. Interested patriots and caregivers can register online now at patriotscove.org or email our Director of Events at pcdirectorofevents@gmail.com

About Patriots Cove

Patriots Cove was founded by a military veteran and his spouse to help other veterans, first responders, and their caregivers heal and adapt to life after service. Nestled in the northeast mountains of Pennsylvania, Patriots Cove is an 18-acre refuge with a trout stream and fruit orchard. The property is wheelchair accessible with a lodge home, activities center, pavilion, fishing docks, trails, rest areas and fire pit.

Our organization is much more than a destination spot for fun vacations, we create healing experiences and promote camaraderie through service to others. Community service projects not only provide a new mission for Patriots and Caregivers, but bring good Samaritans together to improve the community and Beaver Run waterway. Patriots and Caregivers can also get involved as fishing guides, mentors and volunteers. Our mission is to serve those who have served by healing visible and invisible wounds and empowering those we serve by giving them a new purpose in life.
