Submitted Article

An original watercolor painting (above) by local artist Debra Osborne of Laceyville was generously donated to the Oldest House-Laceyville Area Historical Society. It has been on display over the last few weeks at the Community Bank of Laceyville as well as the Oldest House. The painting can now be viewed at The Laceyville Hardware to be auctioned off in a silent auction.

Shamrock Online Auctions, LLC; Jerry Burke and family AU-116 has been kind enough to help with the silent auction by displaying the painting on their website where a bid can be placed. Log on to www.shamrockauctions.net, scroll down through the listings until you see the painting, and place your bid. The painting will be presented to the highest bidder on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 6 pm with all proceeds going to the Oldest House.

Any questions can be answered by calling 570-869-2333 or talking to Tony at the Laceyville Hardware.

The Oldest House will once again be holding its annual Christmas Tea on Friday, Dec. 1 from 4 to 8 pm, Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 to 5 pm and Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm. Organizers are very excited to revive the Christmas Tea. Last year, due to the restoration project, the Tea had to be canceled but is now back on the calendar celebrating over 40 years of thanking the community and those who visit and support the House. The members will have all three floors decorated and will be serving homemade cookies and mulled cider to visitors. The Tunkhannock Dulcimer Group will return Friday evening with a concert and sing along from 6 to 8 pm. The House and members are looking forward to seeing you and sharing the opening of the Christmas and Advent season.
