Old Mill Village Museum’s popular Victorian Christmas Tea will once again provide a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday with sweet treats, hot beverages, and good company on Saturday, Dec. 14, in New Milford.
This elegant interlude will take place from 11 am to 4 pm at the Old Mill Village Church on the Green, 49 Park Place, Mid Town Park. It’s a wonderful opportunity to appreciate family and friends, while enjoying familiar tastes of the season – cookies, cakes, sweet breads, candy, pudding, and – of course – afternoon tea (or hot chocolate). Broccoli salad and tea sandwiches will also be served.
Adding to the festivities, there will be a silent auction of gift baskets – perfect to give as a gift, if one can part with it.
There is no admission charge for the tea, but donations will be gratefully accepted. All funds raised by this event will help maintain the church.
Old Mill Village Museum was founded over 50 years ago to preserve the area’s rich heritage. It has become a center of education and history, showcasing the crafts and artifacts of the 18th through early 20th centuries. The museum is run by a group of dedicated volunteers who give their time and talents to the working of the village.
