Edited from submitted materials

Penn State Extension educators Amber Denmon (above, left) and Sam Zlotorzynski presented at the 2023 PA Preferred Culinary Connection stage at the 107th Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg on Saturday, Jan. 14. They demonstrated how to prepare Pumpkin Chowder and Roasted Tomato Flatbread.

As part of the demonstration, Denmon and Zlotorzynski shared culinary skills like mincing garlic and using a “bear claw” while holding a knife. The recipes were part of the Let’s Cook with Penn State Extension classes. Denmon is an Extension educator on food safety and quality and the Food, Families and Health coordinator for Sullivan County out of the Dushore office. Zlotorzynski is based in Northumberland County at the Sunbury office.

Their takeaway? “If you are starting your journey to a healthier lifestyle or have been following a healthy routine for some time, experience the satisfaction of preparing a delicious and nutritious meal at a Let’s Cook class. These classes are offered both in person and virtually.”
