The Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau (EMVB) is accepting applications for the 2023 Room Tax Grant Program. All applications must be postmarked by September 25, 2023.
The grant program is open to any nonprofit organization or branch of local or county government based in Sullivan, Susquehanna, or Wyoming counties. The grant can be used to fund special events or exhibits, marketing and promotional projects, historical preservation projects, and wayfinding aides.
Each county has its own room tax committee that reviews the applications. Grant recipients will be notified by mail no later than December 31, 2023.
This marks the 17th year that EMVB has given money back to the community through the grant program as part of their efforts to promote the area. The money is generated through the hotel occupancy tax collected in each county according to a state-mandated law. Thirty percent of the money collected is put into the room tax grant fund, while the rest is used by EMVB to promote tourism and market the three-county region.
Grant requirements, guidelines, and applications are available on EMVB’s website at endlessmountains.org/media. You can also obtain a hard copy by calling the visitors bureau at 570-836-5431 or stopping by the office at 5405 SR 6 in Tunkhannock.
