Easter Egg Scramble – Meshoppen Style

Participants in the 13 to adult group (top) make a mad dash for eggs in Meshoppen’s Community Park. In addition to candy and small toys, numbered slips found inside some of the eggs could be redeemed for nice prizes, like a utility cart won by 13-year-old Kalei Timerman (above), a camping tent won by 11-year-old Jason Severcool (below, left), and a bike won by 7-year-old Alfred Higgins (below, right).

The annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Meshoppen Children’s Holiday Fund made a triumphant return to Community Park on Saturday, drawing hundreds of local families to vie for prizes donated by individuals and area businesses.

The event got off to a chilly start, but a nearly cloudless sky allowed for the crisp spring air to warm nicely as the event unfolded. Egg Hunt coordinator Holly Stark emceed the day’s activities. She was assisted, in turn, by a small band of dedicated volunteers.
