Paula Caines of Meshoppen (above) was the big winner in the 13 and Up age group. She is donating her bike to Meshoppen Cat Rescue for the organization’s next benefit.

Temperatures soared into the 80s during Saturday’s Meshoppen Holiday Fund Easter Egg Hunt. Coordinated by Holly Stark and an army of volunteers, the event drew hundreds of children and adults to the Meshoppen Ballpark to scramble for plastic eggs and hope theirs contained prize tickets. Numerous individuals and businesses donated money and merchandise to ensure the success of the event. The big prize in each of five age groups was a bicycle.
Two-year old Stephania Allamirano of Meshoppen was a bit overwhelmed by the crowd at the community egg hunt, but her prize-winning egg garnered her a new bicycle.
Sydnei Ayers of Factoryville was the winner of both a bicycle and a foam play mat at the Meshoppen Holiday Fund Easter egg hunt.
Riker Krause of New Albany was all smiles when he learned he’d won a new bike at the Meshoppen Holiday Fund Easter egg hunt.
