Bradford and Sullivan Counties Welcomes Jodilyn Coleman to Penn State Extension Extension Staff

Jodilyn Coleman, a resident of Bradford County, recently began her position as a Nutrition Education Adviser for the Penn State Nutrition Links program.  Nutrition Links is one of many programs that Penn State offers to the residents of Bradford and Sullivan counties.

Penn State Extension’s Nutrition Links program offers classes with hands-on cooking and food tasting. Topics include planning healthy tasty meals, saving money on groceries, being more active and handling food safely. Nutrition Links is part of Penn State Extension’s mission of “Making Life Better.”

Jodilyn comments, “We are currently recruiting new agencies and organizations that service families in these counties who wish to learn how to eat better for less.”  Eligible persons must qualify for SNAP benefits or have children receiving free or reduced school lunch or attending Head Start.  Coleman states that a family of four who has a household income of $46,500 or less is eligible. This program is free to the participants, and all participants who complete the nine lessons will receive a “graduation” certificate and useful kitchen tools.
