Columbus Day weekend in 2018 marks the 22nd annual Artists’ Open House Weekend in Susquehanna County. Nestled in the hills of Northeast Pennsylvania, Susquehanna County is especially beautiful in the fall when it is blazing with fall colors and blue skies.

For three days, 27 artists will open their studios or viewing venues for the public to visit with the artist, view the vast array of art and take home some artwork for their collections or as gifts.

Mediums represented include fine art drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, pottery, photography, encaustics, textiles, wood crafted furniture, stained glass art, mosaics and even artistic stone walls. Studios will be open daily from 10 to 6 from Saturday to Monday, Oct. 6, 7, and 8. Monday is designated as demonstration day, when many artists show how they produce their artworks.

The key to the tour is the beautifully illustrated brochure, which is available at many businesses throughout the area. All the artists are listed with directions to their locations along with a map to help you navigate around the county. It also lists places to eat and stay overnight to enjoy the weekend. Each listing indicates whether the space is handicapped accessible and/or demonstrations will be done on Monday.

Also be sure to check out www.artiststour.comfor more information and examples of work from each artist.

To add to the fun of the weekend, a Treasure Hunt Game is part of the tour. Prizes are gift certificates which can be used at any of the studios. The game card is in the brochure. Simply visit enough studios to complete the card with stamps from each.
