Connecting Soils to Profits Workshop Offered

Submitted Article

Regenerating your soils, increasing your profits, and improving your streams! Join us Wednesday, March 14, at the Wysox Fire Hall as we hear from Ray Archuleta (the “Soil Guy”) and Steve Groff (farmer and innovator) on connecting your soils to your profits. Ray and his family operate a 150 acre farm in Missouri and he is the founder of Soil Health Consulting, LLC. Ray will talk about the building blocks of your soil and how to improve that, and your profits, by adding diversity with cover crops, planting green and improved grazing techniques. Steve Groff, along with his family, operates a 265 acre farm growing soybean, small grains, pumpkins and other vegetables in Lancaster County. Steve has been an innovator in use of cover crops since 1980 and has adapted his operation as cover crop research, technology, innovation and supply/demand have changed. Steve provides an outlook on staying positive, looking for diversity, and seizing opportunities by keeping Soil Health as the mainstay of his operation.  Find out about the innovative Bradford County Conservation District Air Seeder Program.  Riding high to keep you (and your soil) covered.
