Meshoppen residents and business owners are excited to see that the new box culvert bridge over Little Meshoppen Creek is nearing completion and appears ready to reopen. The old “arch bridge” was closed in August and demolished shortly thereafter. Its dated keystone was saved for restoration and eventual placement in Meshoppen Community Park. Walsh Construction public relations representative Rory McGlasson said that he expects the new bridge, which features a larger spillway, to be open to traffic on Saturday afternoon. By working into the night several days this past week, the project will be kept in its projected time frame of 75 days.
