Rep. Tina Pickett (Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) reminded residents the deadline for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program is Dec. 31, and that her staff can assist applicants during special office hours through December, as well as at her full-time locations in Sayre and Towanda.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate deadline falls on a Sunday this year, so we encourage residents who haven’t yet applied for the rebate to contact any of our offices as soon as they can. We ask residents in the Sayre area to call ahead, but those using Towanda or the satellite offices can just stop by with all of their relevant paperwork,” Pickett said. “Due to the holidays, only one of our satellite dates will be affected.”

For the month of December, staff will be available at the Sullivan County Commissioners’ Office in the courthouse on the first and third Wednesdays, Dec. 6 and Dec. 20, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

In Susquehanna County, staff will be stationed at Heft’s Buy and Sell in Lawton on the second Wednesday only, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon.

At the Sayre district office, Dan Falls from the American Legion can help veterans navigate the complexities of government programs and services designed specifically for them. Specifically, he can help veterans and their family members with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to benefits.

Due to the various holidays in November, the date for the Sayre assistance has been changed to Thursday, Dec. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services, and appointments can be made by calling Pickett’s Sayre office at (570) 888-9011.

Pickett’s full-time offices are located at 321 Main St., Towanda, phone (570) 265-3124, and 106 W. Packer Ave., Sayre, phone (570) 888-9011. More information is available 24 hours a day on Pickett’s website at www.RepPickett.com  or on her Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/RepPickett. Residents can also sign up via her website to receive a weekly email about local and state activities.
