Weather Window: Rainbows Over Towanda Again This Evening?

A double rainbow that appeared over Riverfest in Towanda on Saturday evening gave hope that the fireworks might still proceed. And they did, much to the delight of residents, many of whom proclaimed them “the best ever.” Read on to see what the chances are for more rainbows before day’s end.

Unseasonably warm temperatures near 90 across the region today will come crashing down as a cold front moves through overnight. Ahead of the front, some severe storms are expected to start firing off at about 7 pm in Towanda, LaPorte, and Montrose and closer to 8:30 in Tunkhannock. A Tornado Watch has been issued for the entire area through 9 pm.

Afterwards, expect a dry stretch of weather to extend into next week with very pleasant, seasonable temperatures.

Thursday – 75/52 (partly cloudy)

Friday – 72/50 (sunny)

Tuesday – 75/55 (partly cloudy)

Wednesday – 75/60 (mostly cloudy)
