“Go Joe 20,” an annual event coordinated by WNEP 16 to support the efforts of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Scranton, will pull into Laporte in Sullivan County on Tuesday, July 25 between 11 am and 1 pm, one day before the Laporte Carnival starts.
The Sullivan County “Go Joe” Team is coordinating a fundraising event to help WNEP personality Joe Snedeker with his efforts by conducting activities and sales of merchandise. The only stipulation is that all proceeds raised that day must benefit St. Joseph’s Hospital. Nonetheless, all clubs and organizations will be recognized for their participation.
Sullivan County Commissioner Donna Iannone noted Snedeker drew a large crowd to the park across Main Street from the Sullivan County Courthouse the last time that he was in town. Organizers are hoping to involve as many civic groups, including Scouts, as possible.
“We would love to show Sullivan County spirit and pride to all of the Channel 16 viewing area,” she stated.
