The Riverside Cemetery Association will host one of four Memorial Day services in Towanda at 11 am on Monday, May 29, at the Riverside Cemetery (above), 122 William Street.

Additional services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Towanda Post No. 1568 at 10 am at the Pail Cemetery, on Sugar Creek Road (north of Pine Valley Road and west of Granger Road) in North Towanda; at 10:30 am at Bradford County Memorial Park, 20452 US Route 6, North Towanda; and at noon at the Post’s headquarters at 3271 Bridge Street Hill Road, Towanda.

The ceremonies commemorate the services of all United States war veterans, living and deceased, in honor of their services to our country. The Riverside Cemetery is the final resting place of more than 160 Civil War veterans, one from the Revolutionary War, two from the War of 1812, and others from World Wars I and II.

Please come out to attend this annual event in these beautifully located and maintained burial locations. VFW Post No. 1568 serves lunch and snack foods to all visitors to its location all day on Memorial Day. Submitted by the Riverside Cemetery Association.
