At their monthly meeting at the Moose Lodge in Eaton Township, three Wyoming County residents were sworn in as the first officers of the Wyoming County Young Republicans. New president Duane Marbaker Jr. related that, at 21 current members, the group is already one of the largest of 11 such groups across the Commonwealth. Also sworn in were Renay Faux as secretary and Ryan Eggleston as treasurer.

Marbaker expects the group to receive its official charter on Feb. 4 at a quarterly meeting of the Pennsylvania GOP and Young Republicans meeting in Harrisburg.

At the Jan. 10 meeting, Wyoming County GOP Committee board members (below, from left) Dale Kitchenefsky, Will Eggleston, and Sandra Ritz presented the Young Republicans with a check for $250. The funds will be used to cover the charter fees and toward an event for young voters around primary election time in the spring.

The Wyoming County Young Republicans meet at the Moose Lodge (behind Brady & Cavany and Anytime Fitness) on the second Tuesday of each month. The group will also host an Inauguration Party at the Warren Hotel in Tunkhannock, starting at noon on Friday, Jan. 20.
