An artist’s rendition of what the completed Bradford County Veterans Memorial Park in Towanda will look like.
The Bradford County Veterans Memorial Park Association (BCVMPA) has announced that construction of the next stage of the park in Towanda will begin as soon as weather permits.
A major element of the next stage is the installation of the granite pavers and benches that have already been purchased by supporters.
Hundreds of veterans, friends, and family members have already purchased the permanent granite markers, but a limited number of honorarium pavers are still available and can be placed in the park for $75 each. After the initial pavers are installed, the cost of placing an engraved brick in the park will increase to $100 each.
The focus of the park project is to honor the men and women of the armed forces; from America’s earliest history to today. The traditional “arts in stone” place of honor has rightfully been called a “landmark installation.”
When completed, the site will honor veterans from every military branch and every era – peacetime or war. Beautiful “one of a kind” bronze and granite works of art will be strategically positioned throughout this family friendly park.
BCVMPA invites county residents to be a part of the historic project and will work with anyone who cannot afford to purchase a paver.
Located at the intersection of the Veterans Memorial (Route 6) Bridge and Main Street in Towanda, the park is destined to become iconic to motorists and pedestrians alike.
Some infrastructure, including walls, flag poles, and stairways, are already in place.

Additionally, BCVMPA wants to list at no cost the names of all Bradford County veterans who fall into any of the following groups: prisoner of war, Purple Heart and Medal of Honor recipients, and those recorded as killed or missing in action. Some form of proof will be required.
