Dushore will be full of Christmas spirit this Saturday, as family and friends gather downtown for the second annual Christmas in Dushore celebration in Sullivan County.

Christmas in Dushore festivities will begin bright and early on Dec. 10 with Breakfast with Santa between 8 and 11 am at Pam’s Restaurant, 123 E. Main St. Those who need to take care of a little Christmas shopping can take advantage of the gathering of local vendors at Pam’s Restaurant from 1 to 4 pm, where shoppers are sure to find something special to give this holiday season.
For those wishing to spread some good cheer, a great place to start is at the library, where guests can decorate cookies and make greeting cards for veterans and nursing home residents. This will take place between 1 and 4 pm as well.
As the sun goes down, the fun begins on Center Street and the whole downtown area. From 4 to 6 pm, children will be able to join Santa at the Dushore Hotel for a free slice of pizza. Beginning at 5pm, the night comes alive with Christmas music playing throughout the evening courtesy of YES-FM/WPAL. Enjoy the festive tunes while roasting marshmallows in the fire pits, and check out the live Nativity to remember the reason for the season. There will also be food and Christmas shopping vendors along the street.
The highlight of the day’s activities will be a Christmas Parade which begins at 6 pm. More than 40 decorated floats are expected to proceed through downtown Dushore, each one glowing with beautiful Christmas lights that are sure to brighten up the town and fill spectators’ eyes with amazement.
Santa will also be a part of the parade, arriving on a firetruck!
