The Endless Mountains Resource Conservation and Development Council (EMRCD) has a program to promote the use of wood as a renewable home heating fuel for residents of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Lycoming counties.
Those considering switching to a renewable home heat source are being offered an opportunity for a $500 cost-share payment toward the purchase of a new EPA certified wood or pellet stove.
EMRCD will have a display at the Advanced Wood Energy for Schools, Business, and Communities Workshop at the Wayne County Park Street Complex, 648 Park St., Honesdale, on Sat. Oct. 15.
Between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm, there will be informative presentations about wood, and also other educational and vendor displays. There is a $10 registration fee, which includes lunch.
