Collaboration with Cabot Helps EMAs and Healthcare Workers

A number of local restaurants, media outlets and philanthropic agencies have been working with Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation to address regional needs brought on by the COVID-19 health crisis.

Headquartered in Susquehanna County for more than 10 years and employing many residents of Wyoming, Wayne and Susquehanna counties, Cabot wanted to support the communities as best as they could through various types of donations and found some willing partners.

The most immediate was personal protective equipment (PPE). Cabot and GasSearch Drilling Services (GDS) were able to donate their stock of 150 PPE barrier suits to Endless Mountains Health Systems (EMHS) in Montrose at the end of March. They were also able to arrange for the delivery of 300 pairs of PPE eyewear to EMHS, Commonwealth Health Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock, and Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.

Next, Cabot reached out to Antonio’s Pizzeria in Tunkhannock, Greenley’s BBQ in Tunkhannock, and Original Italian Pizza in Montrose for their help in providing Friday lunches to staff members at Tyler Memorial, EMHS, and Emergency Management Agencies in Wyoming and Susquehanna counties.

In addition to providing PPE and food assistance, Cabot is also working with organizations such as the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, Trehab, Susquehanna County Interfaith, and the Red Cross to help spread public service announcements and calls to action. Through donated radio and TV airtime, Cabot is helping these organizations garner public support, and ultimately, increased donations for those in need.

Lastly, Cabot recognized that the shortages of hand sanitizer was another issue facing employees and the region. They were able to get 300 gallons of sanitizer and distribute it to employees, healthcare facilities, nursing homes, EMTs, and fire departments.
